Helenna Santos has worked professionally in entertainment for over two decades with a career that has included acting, producing, directing, writing, and photography.
She has developed, produced, and overseen the completion of numerous projects including feature films, short films, and digital series. At Your Own Risk , a feature film she produced and stars in, has risen to success on many platforms including TUBI where it reached the "Most Popular" list. It was also acquired and released as a vertical series in 2026. Most notably, this project was shot with a tiny 4-person team deep in the New Mexico desert. Helenna currently works as a freelance Producer with PremiereTV running virtual press junket rooms based out of LA and NY for a variety of studios and networks including HBO, Netflix, Disney, Amazon, and Hulu. As a photographer Helenna specializes in creative portrait photography with high-profile clients including authors published by Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins, as well as actors, filmmakers, visual artists, and performers in a variety of disciplines. As an actor, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, and her extensive work can be viewed in many network TV shows from Virgin River (Netflix) to Fire Country (CBS), Scrubs (ABC), The Flash (CW), and The Good Doctor (ABC), as well as studio movies and national commercials. Helenna's allegorical horror story Audrey Is All Alone brings together all of her storytelling passions in a narrative photo book & multimedia project. For this project Helenna was the creator, writer, director, producer, photographer, art director/set decorator, and publisher. Helenna is the author of the poetry book A Long Dark Summer and her work as a contributing columnist has been featured in several publications including MovieMaker, Backstage, Film Inquiry, WeScreenplay, BUST Magazine, and she was a contributing writer for The Comprehensive Dictionary of Cinema published by Cinematicalism in 2026. She was also the Founder/Editor-in-Chief of the entertainment website Ms. In The Biz (2013-2020), bringing the publication to over 1 million readers from all over the world. Helenna is a mix of Filipino/Russian/German heritage, a US and Canadian dual citizen, and currently resides in the Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada with her husband and their goofy Bernedoodle pup Ella. She has a deep love for reading, indie film, weird art of any kind, the horror genre in general, a good glass of red wine, and the beauty of all things "Americana". |
